In the weeks to come, WNYLaborToday.com will also focus our media spotlight on other Young Unionists groups across the state and country to let you know what they're doing and what can be accomplished by this new and vibrant movement within the U.S. Labor Movement.

For example, the Metro Baltimore AFL-CIO's Council's Young Trade Unionists organization can be found on facebook.  WNYLaborToday.com recently took the time to contact them and we plan to publish a story on the group in the coming weeks.

I have taken a look at your website and the articles on Young Workers.

I must say that it is very impressive and I took a lot away from the articles.  Many of the suggestions from the conference are reality. Great Job in getting the word out!

The Young Trade Unionists (YTU) was revitalized on November 2nd, 2009, by the Metro Baltimore Council AFL-CIO.  This is one of the Central Labor Councils (CLC) in Maryland.

The President of our CLC is Ernie Grecco and he has been very instrumental in revitalizing the YTU.  Mr. Grecco handpicked the executive board for YTU and next year we will have nominations for the board.

Our board consists of people from a variety of Locals such as IBEW, OPEIU, UFCW, Iron Workers, AFSME, Postal Worker, Letter Carriers, Teachers Local, Sheet Metal, Brick Layers, and IATSE.

Most Locals in our jurisdiction have been very supportive and in attendance at our General Meetings held every first Monday of the month @ 7pm.

We plan on putting our future meetings on You Tube.
